Section 56
Punishment for tampering with a post office or letter box
: If any person pastes, applies, or paints any advertisement, notice, catalogue, writing, board or any other thing on a post office or letter box kept from a post office for the purpose of dropping postal items or If it is defaced in any other way, he will be fined up to 500 rupees and forced to repair the defaced letter.
